Sunantana Nuanla-or is a Landscape Architect with extensive experience in both professional practice and academia. She has worked across diverse geographic contexts, including Singapore, Thailand, United States, and China, gaining expertise in projects ranging from residential landscape design to large-scale urban developments. Her professional practice is guided by a commitment to creating ecological and sustainable site designs that promote environmental stewardship and enhance societal wellbeing. Sunantana is dedicated to achieving design excellence and maintaining rigorous quality management standards in projects. In academia, she seeks to share her wealth of professional experience with students fostering a strong foundation in Landscape Architecture.
Sunantana holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University, USA. She received the ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architect) student award in analysis and planning in 2016. She received Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (PGCert) from Birmingham City University, UK. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in the Integrated Science of the Built Environment (ISBE) program, Thammasat University. Her research interests include sustainable landscape design, Nature-based Solutions, Blue-Green Infrastructure, urban landscape and planning and BIM in landscape technology. Amidst the climate crisis era, her PhD focuses on Nature-based Solutions for climate action planning, integrating BIM tools, PCSWMM and GIS in Landscape Architecture and planning to be climate positive in sustainable landscape projects.
